“Autumn Outing”

April 19, 2010

Finally home after a couple weeks away. Been in New York City to follow my paintings in a group landscape exhibition. I earlier shared “Autumn Finesse”, a 36’x36″ canvas that is currently exhibited in the group.

Also in the NYC group exhibition is “Autumn Outing”: another 36″x36″ canvas. The scene is very much an everywhere kind of place we all experience and then forget almost as quickly as we pass through.

I’ve simply connected with the intimacy here and with this the moment is less forgotten. The larger the canvas the more the imtimacy. Painting as I do allows me to touch it all! And with itimacy the everywhere place becomes something other than everywhere.

In New York City I avoided the subway to simply walk, and walk, and walk in a quest for intimacy. Phenominal buildings, people and traffic in endless supply. And Central Park in springtime redefines my concepts of energy. The days and evenings passed too quickly.
